Module C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\bin\tulip\bin failed to register’.

During the installation of SP1/SP2 on top of LoadRunner 9.5 the following error was raised: "Module C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\bin\tulip\bin failed to register"

Note: There may be other similar errors following the first, the difference will be the dll file, however you can manually register the dlls.

Problem

The problem is due to the a DLL or OCX not being registered properly.

Solution

Manually register the DLL/OCX file specified in the error

When the error occurs, make note of the first DLL or OCX that is referenced in the error. This is the DLL/OCX that will need to be registered using regsvr32.

1. Open a Run window (Start -> Programs)
2. Enter regsvr32 and the path to the DLL.

Example:

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\bin\TULIP\bin\WWWPackage.dll"

Hello I am having issues installing the load runner patch for IE8 but it is failing when trying to register wwwpackage.dll and when I try to register it manually this is the error I get. Would you have any ideas on how to correct this?

LoadLibrary(“C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\bin\TULIP\bin\WWWPackage.dll”) failed. – The specific module could not be found.
