Error: "License cannot be saved in your installation directory…"

This following message appears when the license is updated:

"License cannot be save in your installation directory. (error code = -4) It will be used only for this session."

Diagnosis: The problem is that the Controller is being accessed via the network and the user does not have write access via the network or the user that is running the Controller does not have administrator privileges.

Solution

Access machine directly or get write access to the machine

1. Access the machine directly and change the license there or get write access to the machine via the network.

2. Log in as the administrator and make the changes.
