Error: “Unable to allocate required number of resources for load test run.”

The following error occurs when the user tries to run a test:

"Error: Unable to run load test. Please consult your administrator Event: -2147219790

Details: Activation attempt [1]: Unable to allocate required number of resources for load test run"

Troubleshooting "Unable to allocate required number of resources for load test run" error.

Verify the host license:

1. Go to the Admin Site -> System Configuration -> Servers

2. Make sure that host is licensed.

Verify if the host is operational:

1. Go to Admin site -> Hosts page

2. Check the "Condition" column for the problematic host, and make sure that it is "Operational."

Check if there are any pop ups on the controller machine

Login into the host machine ( that is used as a controller )using the Performance Center account (IUSR_Metro by default). Make sure that there are no pop ups when manually launching the controller.

Verify the communication between the servers and the host machine.

Execute ‘Check Hosts’ operation from the Hosts page in the Admin site.

Verify if the host is locked:

1. Go to Admin site -> Hosts page

2. Check the "RunID" column for the problematic host, and make sure that it is "null." If the "RunID" is not null, you will need to free/de-allocate the hosts:

Ø Go to Admin site -> Test Run page.

Ø Click on the "Deallocate Hosts" button.

Ø On the pop-up window, select the "Deallocate LoadGenerator hosts" checkbox.

Ø Enter the RunID (Refer to the problem description for steps to obtain RunID).

Ø Click <OK>.
