Unable to match content in certain frames in Sitescope URL Sequence Monitor

When deploying a SIS URL Sequence Monitor a login to the website is done, and matching a string content to show the website has been successfully retrieved. The login is successful now.

While trying to match the content, there are 3 frames in the web page – top, manu and stats. The monitor is only able to match content in the top frame, but it’s needed to match the string in stats frame.

In URL Sequence Monitor setting:

is selected Retrieve frames and HTTP 1.1

        Others are blank as default

The code returned showed a message saying “ Your browser does not support frames”, which is very strange, as IE8 is used, and the browser is able to show the whole HTML.

By default SiteScope uses Internet Explorer 4.0

The test shows – User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT)

Now open master.config file and change/add _URLUserAgent setting to tell SiteScope to use IE 8 – http://www.useragentstring.com/_uas_Internet%20Explorer_version_8.0.php

Restart the SiteScope service after this change.
