BSM – How to access the BSM application using the IP Address instead of FQDN

This article applies for Business Service Management (BSM) 9.0 and newer versions

By default, the BSM application needs to be launched by using the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in the URL as follows:

http://<HPBSM FQDN>/HPBSM

Even after disabling LightWeight-SingleSignOn (LW-SSO) from the JMX-Console, there is no way to access by using the IP Address.

In such case, the login page shows be below message instead of the form with the login credentials (see message here):

"The HP Business Service Management URL must include the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). Please retype HP Business Service Management URL in the address bar"

There is an additional setting from the JMX-Console that needs to be updated:

http://<HPBSM GW>:8080/jmx-console

– service=SSO

– void setDomainMandatory()

The "void setDomainMandatory()" method needs to be invoked with the "False" option for the "mode" parameter.

The above will allow the user to launch the BSM application by using the IP of the Gateway (GW) Server instead of the FQDN.

Topaz_all_ejb shows Failed to checkin script. System error occurred: Java heap space

A large VuGen script for RDP protocols (more than 13 Mb) is deployed in BAC 8. It is not possible to add it to the EUM script repository

Topaz_all_ejb shows the following:

com.mercury.am.eum.shared.management.exceptions.EumGeneralException: Failed to checkin script. System error occurred: Java heap space

MercuryAS runs out of java heap space (aka memory)

Please increase MercuryAS JVM from -Xms600m -Xmx600m to -Xms800m -Xmx1200m. All GW servers need to be configured with this setting and they will need to be restarted.
