LoadRunner’s License error after instaling UFT 11.53

After completing installation of UFT SP3 on a machine having LoadRunner (11.50 or later) on the same machine, starting Controller will fail with below warning popup:

There is no valid license. To renew your license(s), contact HP Software’s Customer Support.

The reason for this error is because the registry of one LoadRunner’s component, LRWrapper.dll, is overwritten by UFT installation.

To overcome this issue it is necessary to manually register LRWrapper.dll from LoadRunner’s installation.

In order to complete this, the below procedure needs to be followed after UFT Service Pack 3 is installed

Go to Start-> Run

If LoadRunner was installed at the default path, the below command has to be executed:

"regsvr32 C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\LoadRunner\bin\LRWrapper.dll"

Note: In case UFT is uninstalled from the machine, regsvr32 command needs to be run again.
