Set ADO record set CommandTimeout property for long-running queries in UFT in a Database checkpoint

While inserting a database (DB) checkpoint in a script, and in the case the SQL query requires additional time to receive the response from the DB server (For a long-time running query), it’s required to configure UFT (Unified Functional Testing) to wait additional time more than the 30 seconds (default) for the command timeout.

In order to extend the ADO record set CommandTimeout property, please do the following:

1.- Close UFT

2.- Open the registry editor (Start > Run > Regedit) with admin privileges.

3.- Do the following:

Under : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\MicTest\DBUtils

Create : DWORD value Timeout = xxx (decimal)

4.- Close the registry editor.

5.- Reopen UFT and try again the checkpoint step.
