During replay of TruClient protocol function in LoadRunner the following error message is displayed:

Evaluate JavaScript code var myGlobalVar=LR.getPa…t(myGlobalVar); ** failed – exception occurred: SyntaxError: illegal character

the error message could also be:

“SyntaxError: Invalid character [MsgId: MERR-203252].”

The function contains a not English character.

In the example

var myGlobalVar=LR.getParam(“myParam”;

the character “ in (“myParam”) is not written using English keyboard which will cause the error message.

Make sure that the TruClient functions are written using only English characters.

In PC11.52 under edit loadtest when adding scripts to a scenario in the test designer page, nothing happens. No script gets added to groups

In PC11.52 under edit loadtest when adding scripts to a scenario in the test designer page, nothing happens. No script gets added to groups. This behavior works in specific browser versions and fails in others. For example: it works on IE9 but fails on IE10

By default myPC page opens in a problematic browser mode and document Mode.

After adding the PC Server url to Internet Explorer (IE) list of sites to open in ‘compatibility mode’, the site opens well on IE10 machines

So to get this working:

Need to add the PCS url to list of sites to open in ‘compatibility mode’. Then change document mode to “IE7 standards” (using F12)

To help further, it is also OK to try to edit in notepad the file

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\HP\\Performance Center Server\\PCWEB\\Templates

and add the line

<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE7″>.
