In PC11.52 under edit loadtest when adding scripts to a scenario in the test designer page, nothing happens. No script gets added to groups

In PC11.52 under edit loadtest when adding scripts to a scenario in the test designer page, nothing happens. No script gets added to groups. This behavior works in specific browser versions and fails in others. For example: it works on IE9 but fails on IE10

By default myPC page opens in a problematic browser mode and document Mode.

After adding the PC Server url to Internet Explorer (IE) list of sites to open in ‘compatibility mode’, the site opens well on IE10 machines

So to get this working:

Need to add the PCS url to list of sites to open in ‘compatibility mode’. Then change document mode to “IE7 standards” (using F12)

To help further, it is also OK to try to edit in notepad the file

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\HP\\Performance Center Server\\PCWEB\\Templates

and add the line

<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE7″>.

Client certificate suppression in TruClient IE protocol in LoadRunner 11.52

A fix is provided which enables the pop up behavior to be controlled in VuGen 11.52 by a key configuration.

The key will allow the pop up to be suppressed in the cases when the web page does not require a client certificate and to be enabled back when it is needed by re-configuring the key.

To suppress the Client certificate (CC) dialog pop up please follow the steps listed below:

Apply the supportClientCertLR11.52.zip fix on the VuGen machine and all load generators

Go to <LoadRunner installation folder>\bin folder and backup the original files:

LrWebIEInfraServices.dll

LrWebIEInternetProtocols.dll

Unzip supportClientCertLR11.52.zip and replace the above files with the files from the hotfix.

Make the following configuration change:

Open file: %APPDATA%Hewlett-Packard\TruClient\WebIE\tcwebIE_browser_master_prefs.json file and

add the following section to the JSON file:

"SupreesClientCertDialog": {

"value": 1

}

By setting "value": 1 CC dialog pop up will be suppressed.

Please note that:

The configuration change will affect all the scripts that will be recorded in the browser until the settings is changed.

Once the configuration is made it will be saved in the script level automatically and during a load test it will be passed to the load generators.

To enable the Client certificate (CC) dialog pop up the value of SupreesClientCertDialog key should be re-configured as follows:

Open file: %APPDATA%Hewlett-Packard\TruClient\WebIE\tcwebIE_browser_master_prefs.json file

Find the SupreesClientCertDialog section in the JSON file and change the value to 0 (do not suppress).

"SupreesClientCertDialog": {

"value": 0

}

VuGen fails to save the parameter specified in the RunTime Setting in “Additional VM Parameters” in “default.cfg” correctly

While using a Java protocol with LoadRunner (VuGen) 12.00 to develop a script, if a parameter is specified in the "Additional VM Parameters" property in the Runtime Settings "Java Environment Settings" for the "Java VM", under some circumstances the parameter may not be written correctly to the script "default.cfg". As a result, when the script is replayed, the parameter is not correctly set and replay fails.

For example, if the following parameter is specified in the "Additional VM Parameters" property:

-Dparam=value

and the Runtime Settings are closed by clicking "OK", the following line should be present in the script "default.cfg" file:

Java_VM_Params=-Dparam=value

However in some circumstances the data may be concatenated. For example if the following parameter is specified in the "Additional VM Parameters" property:

-Did="name"

and the Runtime Settings are closed by clicking "OK", the following may be present in the script "default.cfg" file:

Java_VM_Params=-Did=

This behaviour occurs due to an issue in VuGen 12.00.

A hotfix is available for this issue at AddVMParam.zip. Follow these steps to apply this hotfix:

Close all LoadRunner components,

Take a backup copy of the file "RTSWebUtility.dll" located at "<LR_Install>\bin",

Take a backup copy of the file "dynatab.js" located at "<LR_Install>\dat\rts\js",

Take a backup copy of the file "JavaVm.xml" located at "<LR_Install>\dat",

Unzip the files from the zip "AddVMParam.zip" into a temporary folder,

Copy the file "RTSWebUtility.dll" it into the folder "<LR_Install>\bin" replacing the existing file,

Copy the file "dynatab.js" it into the folder "<LR_Install>\dat\rts\js" replacing the existing file,

Copy the file "JavaVm.xml" it into the folder "<LR_Install>\dat" replacing the existing file,

Open VuGen and retry the operation.

VUGEN gives exception error at the end of the recording or during replay due to thumbnails

Getting the following pop-up error at the end of the recording:

AXWIN Frame Window: thumbprocess.exe – Application error

The instruction at " 0x7dc995fe" referenced memory at "0x02b87cf4". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

The cause of this issue is unknown.

The workaround is as follows:

Press "start" -> "run"

Type "regedit"

Press "Ok"

a) If the Windows installation is 32-bit, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Mercury Interactive/LoadRunner/Vugen/Thumbnails"

b) If the Windows installation is 64-bit, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Mercury Interactive/LoadRunner/Vugen/Thumbnails"

Double-click on "GenerateThumbs," and set the value to 0.

Now try doing a recording (or replay if the issue was during replay) with Vugen.

In PC 11.52, Controller-> Load Generator Agent connection fails with Error: Process “C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Performance Center Host\\bin\lr_bridge.exe” was not created. Reason: A required privilege is not held by the client. MsgId: MERR-29996

In PC 11.52, Controller-> Load Generator Agent connection fails with Error: Process "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Performance Center Host\\bin\lr_bridge.exe" was not created. Reason: A required privilege is not held by the client. [MsgId:
MERR-29996]

This happens ONLY when LoadRunner agent service is run under a service account and works fine when running under default LOCAL_SYSTEM account

This problem happens due to the fact that magentservice will logon with the logon type intended for users who will be interactively using the computer such as a user being logged on through a terminal server, remote shell, or similar process. This will fail in some environments.

Attached fix will change the logon type as a service-type logon that should allow this connection successfully. To install the patch:

1) Download the patch from here on the LG 11.52 machine and unzip it

2) Go to <LoadRunner>\launch_service\bin folder and backup the same set of files as listed in the patch from step 1 and remove them from the folder

3) Copy the files from step1 into the \launch_service\bin folder and restart the LoadRunner Agent Service

4) Attempt the connection again from Controller

This should now work even if agent service is launched with a domain or service account
