🏷️ View and edit a PDF's Title, Author, Subject, Keywords and Creator, or strip its document metadata for privacy — on-device, no upload.

What is Edit PDF Metadata?

Edit PDF Metadata is a free online tool for viewing and changing a PDF's document information — the Title, Author, Subject, Keywords and Creator fields — and for stripping all metadata when you need a privacy-clean file. It edits the document information dictionary only, so your page content, layout and text are untouched. Everything runs in your browser: no file is uploaded and no server sees your document.

Common Use Cases

Fix titles and authors

Correct a mislabelled Title or Author that shows up in search results and PDF readers.

Add discoverable keywords

Set descriptive keywords so documents are easier to find and organise.

Clean files before sharing

Strip names, app signatures and dates from a PDF before sending it externally.

Remove leftover metadata

Delete blank or unwanted document-information fields to keep properties tidy.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Drop a single PDF into the upload zone (up to 100 MB) — its current metadata is read automatically.
  2. Edit the Title, Author, Subject, Keywords and Creator fields. Producer and the created/modified dates are shown read-only.
  3. Leave a field blank to remove it from the file.
  4. Press “Save metadata” to write your changes, then download the resulting PDF.
  5. Or press “Strip all metadata” to clear the entire document information dictionary and download a clean file.
