What is Add Watermark to PDF?

Add Watermark to PDF is a free online tool that stamps a text or image watermark onto your PDF — across every page or just a chosen page range. You control the text, font size, color, opacity, rotation and position (center, angled diagonal, or any corner), or upload your own PNG/JPEG logo to use as an image watermark scaled to the page. The watermark is drawn as an overlay so your original text stays selectable and vector content is untouched. Everything runs entirely in your browser — the file is never uploaded to any server.

Common Use Cases

Confidential Marking

Stamp "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT" or "COPY" across documents so recipients know at a glance the file is not final or public.

Brand & Ownership

Overlay your company logo or name in a corner so documents carry your identity wherever they are forwarded.

Copyright Protection

Add a subtle diagonal text or image mark that discourages casual redistribution of your creative or research PDFs.

QA Test Data

Mark specific sample pages with a range-based watermark to build visible test fixtures for content workflows.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Upload a PDF by dragging and dropping it or clicking the upload area (one file, up to 100 MB)
  2. Choose a Text watermark or an Image watermark — text lets you type a word like "CONFIDENTIAL", image uses your own PNG/JPEG
  3. Adjust the look: opacity, font size or image scale, color, rotation, and pick Center, Diagonal or a corner position
  4. Pick "All pages" or a Range such as 1-3,5 to watermark only the pages you need
  5. Click the watermark button, wait for the progress bar, preview the first page, then download the result
