What is Extract Text & Images from PDF?
Extract Text & Images from PDF is a free online tool that pulls content out of a PDF without a server. In text mode it reads the embedded selectable text layer and exports it to a .txt file, keeping reading order and adding a per-page marker for every page. In image mode it walks every page and lifts out the embedded raster pictures as JPG or PNG files you can preview, download one by one, or bundle into a single ZIP. Everything is processed locally on your device — your document is never uploaded.
Common Use Cases
Grab Usable Text
Export the selectable text layer of a contract, manual, or report into a clean .txt file you can search, paste, or feed into other tools.
Reuse Diagrams & Photos
Pull the embedded charts, logos, and photographs out of a PDF so you can reuse, edit, or re-host them as standalone image files.
Check Page-by-Page Content
Use the per-page line counts and the in-browser preview to see exactly how much text lives on each page before you download.
QA & Test Data
Generate plain-text and image fixtures from sample PDFs for text-comparison and visual-regression testing pipelines.
