What is Split PDF?
Split PDF is a free online tool that divides a single PDF document into multiple smaller PDFs. You can extract every page as its own file, create files from custom page ranges such as 1-3 and 5, or chunk the document into fixed-size parts of N pages each. Every output is a real, individually downloadable PDF, and the whole job runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Common Use Cases
Share one page of a document
Extract a single page as its own PDF to email or share without sending the whole file.
Split a long document into sections
Use custom ranges to turn chapters, sections, or invoice batches into separate PDFs.
Chunk uploads by page limit
Fixed-size mode breaks a large PDF into parts of N pages each, useful for forms and systems with page caps.
Reorganize a PDF
Extract pages into separate files first, then reorder and merge them back however you need.
How to Use This Tool
- Upload the PDF you want to split (one file at a time, up to 100MB)
- Choose a mode: "Every page separately", "Custom ranges", or "Fixed size"
- For custom ranges, enter page ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-10 — one per line or comma-separated; duplicates are allowed
- For fixed size, enter how many pages each output file should contain
- Click "Split PDF" and wait while each part is generated
- Download parts individually, or use "Download all (.zip)" to save every part as one archive
